Current vacancies:
  • Trustees and Treasurer

Could you be a Trustee or Treasurer for the Romney Marsh Community Hub?

Trustees are volunteers who comprise the Board of Directors of the charity and work in a non-executive role alongside the full time senior management team. Trustees are responsible for agreeing the charity’s strategic direction and ensuring it meets its stated charitable objectives as well as ensuring its long term financial viability.

The Treasurer is a Trustee who is designated to oversee the financial affairs of the Charity working alongside the senior management team, which includes a part time book-keeper. No formal qualification is required, but the Treasurer should have previous experience in managing finances as they will help the book-keeper in the preparation of monthly management accounts, in preparing a report to the Board of Trustees and in working with our appointed external accountants in preparing Annual Report and Accounts. The Treasurer also oversees the charity’s fundraising activities conducted through our specialist fundraising adviser and our in-house fundraiser.

Time Commitment

The Board of Trustees meets six times a year on a Monday afternoon normally for two hours. We plan to have one half day strategy meeting each year, and we also have an AGM in November when we report to our users, staff, volunteers and representatives of the local community on our activities. Remote attendance at meetings is possible.

Could you be a Trustee?

We are interested in hearing from people who are enthusiastic to see the work of THE HUB continue and flourish for the future As more of our activities move towards preventing the consequences of old age from limiting people’s lives, including exercise classes and other wellness and wellbeing activities, we are seeking to recruit Trustees of all ages who share a wish to help people live their lives to the full.

Application Process

If you are interested in applying to be a Trustee, please either call in and leave your name at reception, call THE HUB 01797 363888 or email [email protected] and ask for someone to contact you to discuss your application. We will then arrange a brief phone call after which, should you wish to proceed, we will send a short application form for you to complete. Finally, suitable candidates will be invited for an interview with the Chief Executive, Liz Taylor, and two existing Trustees.

The HUB is committed to a Diverse and Inclusive community so would encourage applications from all.
