How to get in touch with the Romney Marsh Community Hub
Posted on Monday, November 15, 2021
To help our community’s most vulnerable families this Christmas, the Romney Marsh Community Hub is partnering with Age UK, St Leonard’s Church, Hythe, Romney Marsh Resource Centre, Hythe Town Council and Rotary in Hythe to help provide children whose families are struggling, with a surprise under their Christmas tree this year.
Church leader, Lieutenant Susan Shorland-Compton, says: “During the festive season, when many are enjoying celebrations with friends and family, others are struggling to make ends meet.
“Our team of volunteers will be out delivering your generous Christmas gifts to those who might otherwise go without.
“The Christmas Story inspires us as a church to reach out to those in need, so we’re running the Christmas Present Appeal to ensure every child gets a present.”
The Romney Marsh Community Hub is delighted to be participating as a present drop off point. The hub will be open Mon-Fri 9-4 for people to donate a new, unused toy for a child aged 0 to 16 years. Gifts can include anything from soft and educational toys for the very youngest child, to games, toys and accessories for older children.
Romney Marsh Community Hub CEO, Jon Wilson, says: “We’re delighted to once again be acting as a collection point for the Christmas Present Appeal, organised by the Salvation Army.
After the challenges of last year, this initiative is a wonderful way to ensure that those who are struggling can enjoy a gift this year.”
Whilst the hub is grateful for all donations we receive, for this appeal food items and used products are not appropriate.
