How to get in touch with the Romney Marsh Community Hub
Posted on Monday, May 30, 2022
The Romney Marsh Community Hub was delighted to welcome HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO to the Hub on Rolfe Lane, New Romney on Thursday 26 May 2022.
His Royal Highness was met by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant, The Lady Colgrain.
CEO, Jon Wilson BEM, then led a tour of the Hub, wherein HRH met some of the charity’s clients, supporters, staff and volunteers. Together, they demonstrated to the Duke of Gloucester not only the activities and services that are on offer, but also outlined how the Hub coped with the COVID pandemic.
The Duke then unveiled a commemorative plaque, before thanking those present and continuing onward with his tour of the Romney Marsh.
Jon Wilson:
“It was an honour to welcome His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester today - and it was particularly special at this time of celebration of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. His Royal Highness was very interested to speak to our clients enjoying the art club, as well as a demonstration of our Thai Chi class, and understand how activities such as these help the wellbeing of those in our community. We were also pleased to explain how our support services – such as those for people with dementia and cancer – help with the challenges faced by people with these conditions, and their carers.”
