Romney Marsh Community Hub has been awarded £6,000 from the Arts Council’s Let’s Create Jubilee Fund by the Kent Community Foundation – ensuring that creativity plays an important role in local community celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Let’s Create Jubilee Fund will ensure that thousands of people from communities across England will have the opportunity to take part in exciting creative events – all in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee. From puppetry and story creation, through to making crowns, carnival and art trails, there will be a huge range of exciting activities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in.

The Hub will be creating pictures in various mediums and themed poetry with the help of local artists.

Made possible thanks to National Lottery players and administered by UK Community Foundations on behalf of the Arts Council, the Let’s Create Jubilee Fund will support a huge range of projects throughout England. 44 community foundations have been awarding grants across the country.

Our CEO, Jon Wilson said:

“We’re delighted to receive this award which will help the community of the Romney Marsh come together to celebrate this historic event. Those who are more vulnerable and cannot travel to the Hub are also included as we will be sending out activity packs, hats and flags to ensure everyone is able to get involved and celebrate! Our Jubilee Quiz will also be available for all on the Romney Marsh to join via our Facebook page and website – with a prize draw for the winner!”
