How to get in touch with the Romney Marsh Community Hub
Posted on Thursday, July 7, 2022
On Monday 27 June, we were delighted to undertake the first of what we hope to be regular outings with our Sunflower Memory Café clients and carers and visited Longacres Bybrook Barn Garden Centre by coach from New Romney.
Our merry band – which included Hub volunteers – arrived in good time to Bybrook Barn, which most welcoming and offered many stalls and concessions for all to visit and enjoy. Many purchases of plants were made, and much appreciated refreshments were taken at the lovely cheerful on-site café!
The outing - which has made for many happy memories - had been funded by generous donations given to the Hub in memory of Mrs Evelyn Kane, of New Romney, by her family and friends. This was much appreciated by all who attended.
We hope to have more such visits and are actively seeking ideas for future trips!
The Sunflower Memory Café meets at the Old School New Romney on the second and fourth Mondays of each month – 10am-12pm. The newly formed Sunflower Memory Café at St. Mary’s Bay Village Hall meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month 10am-12pm.
All are most welcome to attend; both those who may have a diagnosis of Dementia and anyone who is worried about their memory. For more information about the Memory Cafes please contact the Romney Marsh Community Hub on 01797 363888 Monday to Fridays 9am – 4pm or email [email protected]
