How to get in touch with the Romney Marsh Community Hub
Posted on Wednesday, January 4, 2023
The Romney Marsh Community Hub, which is based on Rolfe Lane New Romney, has announced that its Chief Executive, Jon Wilson, is to step down from his role in March 2023.
Jon arrived at what was then the Romney Marsh Day Centre in 2018 and has steered the charity through the COVID pandemic and its transition to the Romney March Community Hub. The charity won Care Charity of the Year 2022 in the Kent Charity Awards, and Jon was honoured with a British Empire Medal for services to the community in 2021. Jon is leaving his post to pursue new ventures.
Jon says of his departure:
“I am so proud of all the charity has done to help, support and enable people, not only during COVID but subsequently, and at a time when the needs and challenges faced by those over 50 in our community are greater than ever. In the last two years, we have successfully restructured our services to better help the community we serve – and it is rewarding to see the Hub being used by more people than ever before. This has - and continues to be - testament to the dedication and commitment of the team and volunteers who have gone above and beyond to make a difference to so many people’s lives. For our Hub to have won Care Charity of the Year is proof of this hard work and it has been an honour to have played a small part in this special charity’s 47 year history.”
Neil McClure is the Romney Marsh Community Hub’s Chair of Trustees.
"We are sorry that Jon's time as our chief executive is coming to an end and would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his committed and outstanding service in the past four years. We have begun the process of finding a successor, but in the meantime are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Services Manager, who will be joining the team in January. We wish Jon all the very best for the future.”
