How to get in touch with the Romney Marsh Community Hub
Posted on Monday, January 16, 2023
On Friday the 2nd December, we threw a party to celebrate all things “volunteer” and, as it was December, we threw in some Christmas Cheer as well!
With over 45 of our volunteers in attendance we had a nice turn out at this busy time of year.
The proceedings started with ensuring everyone had a well-deserved glass of wine. Everyone was then welcomed by our Wellbeing Team Leader, Andrea Hutchens, who read a thank you speech from our CEO, Jon Wilson.
Gavin Hitchman, our Volunteer Coordinator, then took to the floor to give a personal and comedic thank you to everyone for not just the hours they give, but the welcoming environment they have created here at the Hub for customers and new staff and volunteers alike.
The most wonderful buffet was then unveiled and, seeing as there wasn’t any left at the end, we are happy to say it was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
Gavin once again took to the floor and began the congratulations, with each and every volunteer awarded a certificate for their valued Commitment and Contribution. They were also presented with a thank you pack of homemade fudge from the Fudge Fairy!
Two very special awards for Long Service were then presented to Margaret Edwards & Joyce Cattroll. These ladies have volunteered for an incredible combined total of 60 years, not only with us but with Hi Kent hearing aids, as well as supporting many other clinics held at The Hub.
It is fair to say the event was a complete success and will be replicated throughout 2023 as we just can’t thank our volunteers enough.
