Heat & Eat

Please help us to help those in need on the Marsh, by making a donation to our ‘Heat and Eat’ Appeal!

Why have we launched this appeal?

With the cost of living crisis taking hold, we anticipate a greater strain on our services this winter with more people struggling to make their pensions or savings cover the increased cost of heating their homes and putting food on the table. For those within our community already facing financial hardship, the biggest jump in the cost of living in decades will bring immense anxiety and uncertainty.

Your donation will help to ensure we are able to continue:

  • Providing hot home cooked nutritious meals in our restaurant and, for those that are unable to come to us, we provide a community hot meals service daily across the Romney Marsh area, which also serves as a welfare check
  • Reducing social isolation and offering a chance to forge friendships; for many attendees who live in rural villages this might be their only social opportunity in an otherwise lonely week
  • Providing the opportunity to take part in a variety of exercise classes and specialist interest groups
  • Being a safe place for people to keep warm during the day without the worry that they might have about their energy bills
  • To provide a transport service which enables anyone from across the Marsh, however rural, to access our hub
  • Offering an information and advice service – helping our attendees understand their rights and what services and benefits they may be entitled to

How to donate

You can make a donation online or by sending a cheque to us in an envelope marked ‘Heat and Eat Appeal’ to our address on the Contacts page.
